About AI Readable
AI Readable measures how friendly a web page is to generative engines — whether tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity can fetch your content, parse it, and cite it in an answer.
Why this is not the same as SEO
Search engines return ten links and let a human choose. Generative engines return an answer: your site is either cited in it, or it might as well not exist. That difference makes details matter that SEO mostly ignores — whether robots.txt allows AI crawlers, whether critical content is client-rendered, whether the opening paragraph states a quotable conclusion.
What the audit checks
32 rules across 6 categories: crawler access, no-JS rendering, content structure, machine-readable semantics, answerability, and trust signals. Every rule returns a concrete fix, not just a score. The full list is on the home page.
How to read the score
The score is a weighted roll-up across categories, reflecting how friendly the page is to AI crawling and citation. It is not any engine's official ranking, and it cannot predict whether you will be cited — nobody can predict that. Its use is naming the fixable technical problems one by one.
Who builds it
An independent project, still early. The audit engine and rule set are an open implementation. For questions or suggestions, see Contact.
