Content is not visibly stale

Why this matters

Stale content is skipped outright on technology, pricing and policy questions. Declaring an update date extends how long the content stays quotable.

How to fix it

Which advice applies depends on what the audit found. The label is the condition that triggers it.

• unparsable

  Switch to ISO 8601, e.g. 2026-09-01 or 2026-09-01T10:00:00Z.

• future

  Check how the date field is generated. A future date makes an engine distrust the whole metadata block.

• aging

  If the content is still accurate, review it and bump dateModified; revise or version-label the parts that have aged.

• stale

  Schedule a content review. On a time-sensitive topic, two-year-old content is almost never cited by a generative engine.
