Has a parsable publication or update date

authority/date

Why this matters

Recency is one of the hard filters an engine applies to sources. Without a parsable date, the content is essentially out of the running on any time-sensitive question.

How to fix it

Which advice applies depends on what the audit found. The label is the condition that triggers it.

  • unstructured

Add datePublished to the JSON-LD, plus dateModified when the content is revised, using ISO 8601.

  • missing

Supply at least a publication date: datePublished in JSON-LD together with a <time datetime="..."> element.
